I'll be writing a Western themed HEX game in the next few days, and figured we should start a thread to start discussing what changes, what equipment, talents, skills, and all that other jazz will have to be done up for a western game. _________________ DANGER MAGNET! at WWW.DANGERMAGNET.COM is your source for a FREE Hollow Earth Expedition Electronic Magazine! |

For starters, if you're going 'traditional' Wild West, remove all the 'modern' equipment from the list. This might mean having to rename a few items to fill some gaps, but it shouldn't be too tough. _________________ "Nazis. I hate these guys."

Wagons and coaches (standard stage and armored payroll). If you haven't seen the new "3:10 to Yuma," there's a badass armored stage with a gatling gun mounted on the back.
I think Indian- and horse-related equipment are pretty much taken care of.
I'm also thinking "giant painted rock." _________________ - Daniel Potter (MYTHIC ERAS)

I think "3:10 to Yuma" was an awesome remake, and I'm generally not a fan of remakes of classics.
Anyway, tou need animal husbandry, farming, and mining specializations. Might not hurt to pull in some of HP's social class stuff as well. |

John Wayne already did that in "The War Wagon". _________________ Steven P. Ross
