I'll definitely try and make it!
Back to the OT, rather than a full list, I think this'll be more fun:
Oldest: White Box D&D
Newest: XDM Xtreme Dungeon Mastery
Most Expensive: Nobilis
Most Obscure: Probably Ralph Baskshi's Wizards
Prettiest: Game of Thrones or Secret of Zir'an
Tallest: Metabarons (or Everway Box)
Widest: Redhurst Academy of Magic
Shortest: Darksword Adventures
Nakedest: GURPS Planet Krishna
Wettest: Blue Planet
Longest: Talislanta
First Owned: D&D 2e PHB
Most beloved: HEX! _________________ Newest Hollow Earth Expedition product: Legacy of the Terra Arcanum. Navigate your way through Vencie to discover long-buried secrets that could alter the course of history! |

Couple more:
Dirtiest Potty Mouth: HoL
Most supplements for a game I've never played: Dying Earth
oh, and newest book honors should actually go to 4e essentials. Forgot about that one. _________________ Newest Hollow Earth Expedition product: Legacy of the Terra Arcanum. Navigate your way through Vencie to discover long-buried secrets that could alter the course of history! |

Can't list my collection, I must have in excess of 500 titles! Not sure if I'm proud or ashamed...
Whats 4E essentials like I've been a bit out of the loop with New D&D? I have the core set and 6 or 7 other 4E books, but not heard of that until ealier this week. _________________ All the best

Essentials is...an odd little duck. First off, it's an entire line, but what I bought was the introductory red box. Essentials is meant to serve two separate, and sometimes contrasting purposes:
1: a gentler introduction to D&D for complete newbies
2: an appeal to pre-4e players to give the thing a try
It's supposed to run in parallel to the regular 4e lines, sort of like BD&D and AD&D, but with complete interoperability between the two.
So (at least in the red box, which is all I have), they've stepped back and gone to the classic 4 classes and 4 races. I haven't played enough 4e to notice, but supposedly, the power progression is supposed to be structured more like a 3e class, and going along with that, the other books go back to the 3e-style blocks for classes, rather than the more "spread-out" style of 4e.
The red box itself is at once conveninet and frustrating. It's cheap, which is quite nice, and has rules going up to 2nd level. Character creation is by choose-your-own-adventure, which is a very cool idea. Problem is, if you're trying to put together pregens as a GM, it gets old FAST.
The DMG likewise is structured as a learn-as-you play kind of thing along with the adventure. So stuff like saves, healing, etc., are only detailed as they might come up during the adventure, which makes it difficult to use as a reference. And there's at least one concept, "bloodied" that isn't actually defined anywhere. I'm not really convinced that an RPG newbie could really handle GMing from this.
The rest of the line has the actual character creation rules, eq lists (the CYOA basically gives you a standard build, that's it), feats, etc.
Still, for $20, the red box isn't bad if you've been curious about 4e but don't want to shill out for the full game. Just know that you're going to get about 1-2 sessions out of it (and some dice), and that's it. _________________ Newest Hollow Earth Expedition product: Legacy of the Terra Arcanum. Thanks for that, seems like I don't need it, I like that they are trying to make the game more accessable though. _________________ All the best

Still not sure if I can make it, but a friend of mine wants to know if you'd mind him showing up for a little while to watch. He's got a thing at 2:00, otherwise he'd play. _________________ Newest Hollow Earth Expedition product: Legacy of the Terra Arcanum. Heh. Mine is not complete, mainly because there were some books I just didn't have any interest in, but they're definitely well-loved.
In the same vein, I have pretty much everything WEG came out with for the Indiana Jones RPG. _________________ "I've got a degree in kicking arse and I'd have a doctorate in not giving a damn if I'd bothered to attend the ceremony." |

That collection, I'm proud to announce, is complete. As is Bloodshadows, Tales from the Crypt, Species, and everything else for Masterbook.

| My collection (in hardcopy) shrunk massively, while my electronic collection blossomed. Still, there are a few that I could never part with...my prize: a complete collection of Skyrealms of Jorune, both 2nd and 3rd edition. |

Never read the book, but that's one of those licenses that just makes you wonder what the hell they were thinking. _________________ Newest Hollow Earth Expedition product: Legacy of the Terra Arcanum. Heh. I have The World of Tank Girl from them. Yeah, at one point it seemed like they were grabbing any license they could. _________________ "I've got a degree in kicking arse and I'd have a doctorate in not giving a damn if I'd bothered to attend the ceremony." |

i have actually never tried to catalogue my RPG collection, although i do have a few treasures that stand out in pride in my collection. i don't go out to try and collect "everything" from a series, usually, although i do have all of the ALTERNITY books, along with Buck Rogers XXVc, d20 MODERN, Star Frontiers, most AD&D, all Al~Qadim, all Exile HEX (duh), all original D&D (1974 under Tactical Studdies Rules) + Chainmail, all Weird War II (d20) and about 6 shipping containers of RPG's of which i don't really remember what's in there. i should go look...
...if i'm not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer. _________________ ...the rich |

That's actually why I volunteered to catalog my whole groups' collections. I got way too tired of one of us minstakenly buying the same thing over and over at conventions because it's cheap and we can't remember if we own it (at one time we had 4 copies of the Berlin sourcebook for TORG). Nothing too fancy, just a list in Excel of publisher, SKU, system & line (having both helps distinguish, e.g., D20 or original edition without checking copyright date), title, owner. Never go to a con without it any more. _________________ Newest Hollow Earth Expedition product: Legacy of the Terra Arcanum.
