That's fairly short sighted Tex, the better we understand the ecosystem and the animals within it, the better off we'll be. We'll know which game trails to follow, what regions to avoid, which creatures are aggressive, docile or perhaps even beneficial. The native survive, and I assure you it's not by declaring war on all of the creatures in Pelucidar.

Phelps puts in his two cents. "Gentlemen, you both have valid points. Our first priority is survival. Then we need to acquire the proper resources and knowledge to find a way home. I would say that we have come a long way to reach the relative safety of Fallbridge. We have food, shelter and most of the civilized comforts one should expect given the circumstances."

“If the Doc can do research that can help keep us safe, that’s fine. It is no different than the Kid doing science experiments to earn us money. Ultimately it gets us toward our goal. Tex, your point is a good one. We have been so worried about survival; we have lost focus on the getting back home part. We should put some serious effort into that now.”

Inspired by his companions and maybe a touch too much of the “good stuff” he then loudly asks a question of the bar, “Has anyone ever heard any stories of a way to leave this place?”

Ook'Laa takes the weary Eddie back to the house.

The bath goes a logn way in helping Nora recover from the bruising, but she still gingerly makes her way back to the room after drying off and changing into some fresh clothes.

Seeing the abandoned book and noticing the pilot's absence, she stops for a second then shrugs, assuming the pilot has gone down to the common room to join the rest.

She heads down with the the same goal and easily finds his teammates assembled. She witnesses the scruffy man's tearful praise and smiles. The smile falters a bit when she spies Phelps, but she rallies and, with a radiant entrance, arrives at the table.

"Looks like you started the celebration without me," she laughs. "Doc, have these reprobates brought you up to speed? Have the kid and the caveman gotten back yet? And can anyone please help a lady get some decent grub and drink?"

Despite her cheerful demeanor, she avoids eye contact with the soldier.

Tex rise from the table and pulls out a chair for Nora. When she is seated he says... We've been having a bit of an argument Miss Nora about our next plan of action. The Doc thinks we should set up camp and learn as much about this dan... ( falters for a moment with a slight blush and restarts) this place as we can. I'm for fining a way to skeedadle out of here as fast as we can. What you take on the particulars?

FYI-the Inn you guys are staying at is a few blocks inland from Rusty's, but still it's not big walk between the two.

Phelps looks at Nora. "Good that you could join us. This good man just bought you a drink." Phelps passes the bottle her way and raises his glass. "To your health!"

He then continues the conversation with the whole group. "The way I see it, we need to finish what we started with the the River Run. That should give us a good base of capital to pick up whatever supplies we need. We gather as much information as we can and we keep moving. eventually we will find our way home. All that sitting still will get us is settled."

"Cotton how are you and Ms. Georgia getting along? Has anyone see Max? Is he doing well? Anything happen while we were gone?"

"Georgia's been working here, fetchin drinks and singin in the Chance Parlour" Cotton replies. "I been doin odd jobs, hepin out where i can. that Max fella's been restin back at the room. he go for walks now and again, tryin to heal up."

Nora lifts the bottle to return the salute and takes a swig.

"I agree we should make an effort to find a way back, but going off half-cocked in this crazy place is bound to get us killed. Building up a safe place to hole up and resupply is not a bad idea. At the very least we need more information and equipment.

"Seems to me were not the first ones to find ourselves here; I think our first lead can be trying to find what happened to those folks and where they might be."

At Phelps' question, Nora gestures with her bottle. "I saw Max up in the room when I went up, reading some book he found. When I got out of the bath, he was gone, but I figured he was here with the rest of you."

once Ook'laa and the kids get to the house, we clean up and head the the inn that everyone has gone to, unless it's too late in the day, in which case he'll see the young'uns to supper and bed.
