I ran on Saturday Lair of the Golden Death as a play test in preparation for me running it at a con on March 8th.
Session report is here http://www.exilegames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1310
One thing that came up was the city and its look and feel.
I was a bit stumped as I hadn't really given enough thought to this. Even simple things like how did they cook food, what kind of eating implements did they use, how did the furniture look, how did they dress?
All of this was something I hadn't thought about. Now I believe from memory the main book does talk about architecture but does not cover these mundane things. The only items in the main book are more fantastic items and none of the potentially mundane.
Has anyone given this some thought, if not maybe we can discuss this here and come up with some ideas? |

I've got a file somewhere with a supposed atlantean alphabet if that'd help.
As to architecture, I went for a cross between Thailand, Indonesia, India,Vietnam, South America etc kind of look. I'll post some pics later if i get the chance |

My assumption is that the Atlanteans influenced the major early civilizations and so I'd go with a classical Greek/Roman feel for the more mundane day to day things with perhaps a dash of Egyptian...so bearing this in mind you can just have a look through some history books to get an idea of what those items looked like and the way they lived their day to day lives, ate their meals, bathed, etc. _________________ Dr Karl Magnus in....THE ANKH OF CHEPHREN!

Good tip..I will have a look at some of the online sources of info and hit the local library if I get stuck.
Has anyone depicted and items of technology or have you assumed that this would have all been stripped bare by Nazi, pirates, etc? |

Here's a link to my homemade Atlantean font:
http://www.the5thcircle.com/hex/atlantean.ttf
It's only capital letters, and is designed to look a little like cuneiform mixed with an alien language.
