I prefer the tech angle myself. It fits into the pulp genre a bit more, since usually anything supernatural was explained via science at the end. Pulp was one of the birthplaces of the Scooby Doo ending - the ghosts were just a projector, and so on.
And my version of the 'multi-phasic' hand wave is 'Atlantean crystals'. _________________ "Once again there is nothing you possess which I cannot take away. This time, it will cost you."

Like many others I tend to go with tech that is so far advanced it seems like magic, for me they just understand laws of physics that we haven't discovered yet.
PS. My Viking gods of the hollow earth will use Atlantean science to fuel there powers. |
