I've just caught up on my game reading and I gotta say that the League of Adventures stuff produced by Triple Ace Games and written by "Wiggy" Williams is really great. It's pretty much ubiquity steampunk, and you could definitely play it as its own thing or very easily adapt it to the Hollow Earth setting.

I just finished reading the "Globetrotter's Guide" and I have the other stuff. I was just wondering if anyone else has been using these and whether you're adapting it to the HEX world or running it as its own world?

I have only given the LoA material a quick look over but I am very happy with what I see.

I was planning to use the Equipment Dice mechanic in my online HEX game as they are setting out on an expedition and I did not want to do all the bookkeeping ahead of time.

I also like the idea of Reputation Points but it only really works if you stay on (or return to) the Surface World. I am a big fan of providing experience that sometimes goes into non-combat areas.

I am prepping my first LoA campaign now and am loosely linking it to AfO, so it will not be connected to HEX,. I think that normally, however, I might want the freedom to connect them if the players experiment with mole and time machines.

In my current serial setting posts on Casting Shadows, I have been making potential links apparent, but more for an either/or sense for period rather than an all-inclusive sense.

I've picked up the hard cover copy of LOA, in addition to all their PDF material, with the express purpose of supplementing a HEX campaign I will be starting. The writing for LOA is top notch, and some of the sample henchmen, creatures, and adventure seeds will go a long way towards helping me develop a wide variety of material I can borrow from with my HEX adventure.

To be honest, it almost seems easier to integrate material from LOA into HEX than the other way around. Moving forward in time makes variations on equipment easier, in my opinion, than trying to determine the Victorian equivalent of certain mid-20th century items.

I highly recommend the free 101 Seed Ideas PDF (developed by TAG for use in LOA), as the plot hooks fit really well in either setting. The artifact generator is also VERY handy. The LOA guides for Expeditions and Unusual Places are also a perfect fit with the HEX setting (giving GMs ideas for tackling different modes of travel over various types of terrain, or supplying detailed backstory for interesting locations in which to occupy your players).

I'm very satisfied with everything I've purchased from Triple Ace Games; Paul Wade-Williams is a really good writer!

Maybe we could get Triple Ace games to work on a Mars supplement for LOA? Something to tide us over this winter waiting for Exile to publish theirs ...

Everything we have to say about Mars is already in the Globetrotters' Guide to Unusual Places. Smile
