Congrats, John! Nice to see that everyone gets a prize, too
As for getting my adventure cleaned up, I think I'll go back and rewrite the end - taking John's notes into consideration - before passing it on to you, Melissa. _________________ "Nazis. I hate these guys."

Congrats to all! In my absence, I missed the deadline myself and haven't even had a chance to read the entries, but the titles all look intriguing. _________________ - Daniel Potter (MYTHIC ERAS)

Hullo, folks, Shawn,
Good stuff, Shawn! Scenario was quite lovely, and to all intents and purposes very entertaining to read, and looks great to run, which I shall be doing at a demo shortly.
A good job by all the writers of scenarios for this contest. I bow to their adventure scenario writing capabilities. ::bow, bow:: _________________ "The pterodactyl swooped down and...well, let's just say that Loren

Thanks to everyone for their kind words regarding the Amelia scenario. It needs quite a bit of hard editing at this point, but I'll get on that ASAP and get it turned into or have someone turn it into a PDF.
As I'm editing it I would love any pointers or suggestions from anyone around here. The final version should have public domain photos, a map of the island, and some other GM/Expedition Guide notes and tips in the actual adventure.
What were the opinions on the specifics requests for skill rolls and listing effects within the body of the adventure (Example Ref Perception Roll: DC (2+), success notices I can't use grammar to save my life).
A special thanks to Harrier Potter on my behalf. Mr. Potter took the time to read, make suggestions, and offer to edit the first full attempt at a scenario for this contest (The Thule Death Ray Affair which is appearing as the PBEM in the TALES OF HOLLOW EARTH section, where I'm currently looking for a few more players). He was patient and happily gave me a plethora of pointers. The best one was to point out that the adventure in no way fit the theme of the contest. So, from that first attempt came Amelia.
After quite a bit of thought about which prize to claim I'd like to have a second map of for prop purposes, but I can buy one of those so I've decided to go with the MAD SCIENTIST on pg 96 (if that is a suitable option). If there is every a print or poster of the interior cover (the native and the female explorer looking over the waterfalls I would grab that in a heart beat).
Congrats to all the contestants and thanks for entering and making the contest so much fun. I'm hoping the next contest brings in even more entries. _________________ DANGER MAGNET! at WWW.DANGERMAGNET.COM is your source for a FREE Hollow Earth Expedition Electronic Magazine! |

Thanks to everyone at Exile Game Studio for taking the time to run this contest, as well as everyone that participated. It takes an active community to keep a good game going.
I'll get busy revising my entry. I'm looking forward to being ablt to expand it now, adding some of the handouts I had originally designed for it. I'm also going to incorporate John's comments to make a better ending (thanks, mate ). I'm also going to try to add in stats this time.
While I'm here, if John is all set with his prize selection, I would like to have the 11x17 world map, since I'm kind of a freak about cartography. |

Glad to hear this, Shadowstalker, as I want to run "The Inheritance" as a demo for a group of potential HOLLOW EARTH EXPEDITION players. Having the NPC stats for the scenario would be cool, but having the player characters for the demo would be even better.
Look forward to v2 of the scenario. _________________ "The pterodactyl swooped down and...well, let's just say that Loren

Glad to hear that someone wants to put this to use. Any particular timeline on when you want to run the demo? It's probably going to take me awhile to get the changes I want done after the demands of work and family. Both are already cutting into my freelancing
I hadn't really thought about putting together player characters for this - maybe you or someone else might be interested for the sake of time? If you have an ideal construct of an archetype group you'd like to run the demo with, I could probably re-jigger the adventure to provide play opportunities for those characters.
Anyway, thanks for the interest. |

I can certainly understand the demands of real life getting in the way of working on this, although I was hoping to be able to run the demo sooner rather than late.r Gotta strike when the iron's hot with new gamers and all that.

Nothing really comes to mind in regards to specific archetypes or any of that stuff. Grunwald's nephew, who gets the letter at the beginning, might be a scientist himself, following in the footsteps and possibly steered in that direction, if Grunwald is part of the TA? Maybe the character would be a linguistics specialist, although that might derail the game too early. After that, the group of characters needed would have diverse skills, and I think that a big game hunter type might be appropriate (perhaps a soldier and/or a mercenary as well, someone with Pilot skills (given the sequence aboard the zeppelin?). I also think a Missionary or at least a priest-like character would be appropos, given the whole Templar thing, so that;'s how many? four or five?
As for the primary NPCs and nemeses, well, Ilse Von Mannen should be a Follower 3 or 4, Wolfgang Himmler should be a Mentor 3, Grunwald should be a Mentor 3 or 4, and Healey shouild be an Ally 3 or 4. What do you think?

More than welcome, it was a good scenario to read and looks like it will be cool to run. _________________ "The pterodactyl swooped down and...well, let's just say that Loren
